Pretty stupid on another level. Better to just have drop off/pickup points at either end. Why waste the energy moving cars back and forth instead of dropping one, doing the paperwork on board for the new rental and picking up another car at the other end? Provide a porter to help with luggage.
If you're hauling so much crap on vacation that you can't shlep it on/off, there's something wrong with you anyway. Esp. given the new baggage limits.
Oh, I'd much prefer to keep the car. Are you kidding? Unload and reload? Yech. This way, too, customers have the choice to do it your way if they want. It's cheaper after all to take the ferry without a car.
It's irrelevant how much it costs or how much it wastes as long as I don't have to be bothered.
I understand why a local would want to use their own car. But a tourist with a couple of suitcases???? No wonder the nation looks like refrigerators with heads.
Re handles. I figure the opposite of Parxist inaccuracy, laziness and hype isn't a bad place to start.
I certainly won't begrudge you, nor necessarily even disagree with, your moral indignation. But when my family vacations around by car we pretty much move in. There are books and papers and maps and food wrappers and nintendos and coffee mugs all over the place. Feh. For just a little more money I'll definitely keep the car. If it's a lot more money then obviously I'll switch.
I have to admit how funny it is to me that all of you are so damn fascinated by what the left is doing on Kaua'i. Every day on this blog there are references to Andy Parx, for example. Charley, you might want to change the name of your blog to "Parx World."
Baggage limit? What limit? There's only a charge, no "limit" that I know of other than 50 lbs. a bag. Heck, my wife and I will continue to drag our closests around with us, as well as our wine, gin, port, and ground coffee. I hate paying $14 for a maitai (at Koele Lodge). We're so spoiled! I LOVE being a consumer!!! You can travel with your backpack; not us.
$15 for first bag $25 for the next. Get your checkbook Manowaaaaaaaaaaah. The real cost of energy is starting to filter through the system.
Parx just provides endless amusement. How can one man get so much wrong in so little time, while always claiming to "have been at the meeting". Hunter Thompson had gonzo journalism. Parx has ganja journalism.
It's so weird the way you think about him so much! It reminds me of those rabidly homophobic guys who have an inexplicable familiarity with the gay porn that they claim is destroying civilization. Do you keep a scrapbook? Just curious.
ah yes. Homophobic insults. The last semi safe bigotry.
What if they did? Would it matter? What makes you think interest in someones weird political/societal opinion making is sexual in the first place? Projecting are we?
That parallel (the homophobe who has a repressed desire) was meant to show the strangeness of the obsession with a writer people on this blog claim to dislike.
Look; I merely rented a car so I could transport gay porn from island to island discreetly, without risking attention by transferring it from one car to another. Okay? I'm Sorry. Now please lets drop the subject!
Does the Superferry have to screen for that or is the state providing inspectors? Gay porn and fireworks are a bad mix anywhere, least of all on the open seas.
Sweet! I just wanted to see if you all were immune or not to your own poison....now you can drop the gay porn issue and get back to your important work of trolling other people's sites!
I don't understand the whole "troll" thing. Is a troll someone who posts comments to a blog post in disagreement with the post? What's the problem with that. I love the commenters that disagree with my posts. They make blogging interesting. Do other bloggers want their blogs to be personal love fests? Yech. Boring. I like my trolls. Keep on trollin'.
a blog troll is someone who intentionally disrupts a site by picking arguments and generally being a nuisance without offering any contribution.
Andy's definition means anyone who fact checks him or offers an opposing viewpoint. Especially if they use the same level of derision and scorn as master himself.
As I see it, a troll pulls an intelligent discussion off course not by disagreeing with the points made - which would be good for the discussion - but by disruption and distraction - nitpicking a tangential point or phrase, or resorting to an insult to the character of other individuals in the discussion. I'm not sure if it's deliberate or simply a result of a lack of analytic skills which leads people to this.
anonymouse; you is so stupid. trolls are like menehune, they do all the work at night, during the day they just hang out posting about radical gay porn on QVC. freekin'guy!

I like your user name approach too. I like that.
Typical lazy American.

...plus, I get my exercize elsewhere.

that doesn't diminish the fact that you guys are looking like you've got giant boy-crushes on Andy.
And what's wrong with having a giant boy crush on Andy?
more like morbid fascination. Andy has hygiene issues. ugh.

Be patient.
I'm sure we'll soon have a post that will allow you to give legitimate criticism.

Andy is like gay porn?
Is the Superferry Maui Brad's and Joan Conrow's gay porn?

At least you didn't put up a link to the famous internet prank.

I must say I agree with that definition.
Let's put it on Wikipedia!
